UC ONLINE ACADEMY
LAUNCHES THIS FALL
Great News! UC Online Academy courses will soon be available for open access to California public schools. That means California public school teachers and students looking for innovative online courses and instructional materials can access the Academy’s proven curriculum at no cost. UC Online Academy can also provide teachers to support the online courses in California schools at a reasonable cost.
Private schools and out-of-state schools may purchase online courses and instructional resources with or without the support of an online teacher at an affordable price. Whether you are a school administrator or teacher looking to expand your instructional resources, a parent seeking expanded learning opportunities for your child, or a student searching for an academic challenge, UC Online Academy is for you. Contact our UCOA Program Representatives to find out how you can take advantage of these powerful online resources.
ABOUT THE ACADEMY
Online Courses for High School Students
UC Online Academy (UCOA) is a virtual learning platform that uses multimedia and structured learning exercises to make Advanced Placement courses, Honors courses, and “a-g” college preparation courses available to students throughout California, and beyond.
With our online courses for professional adults, UCSC Extension has set the standard for online education delivered from Silicon Valley. Now, we’re applying that expertise to a much wider audience, one that includes public and private high schools, charter schools and homeschooled students. The University of California has a long history of reaching out to high schools – especially disadvantaged high schools – to provide high-quality resources. UCOA is a collaborative effort between UC Santa Cruz and the UC Office of the President, and its curriculum is well-proven.
Thousands of students have taken these courses over the past decade, and the curriculum reflects established educational standards and benchmarks for mastery, all aligned with California core standards. Additionally, UCOA’s AP courses are excellent preparation for AP Exams.
Teachers may choose to use the Academy’s courses to supplement existing curriculum, or as standalone courses. For all students, these online courses are an affordable way to earn college credit and prepare for undergraduate study.
